Be Ready In 5 Minutes

What To Have Ready Before You Call

Five minutes of preparation gets you a precise quote, a faster booking, and often a smaller bill. Here is the checklist our dispatchers wish every caller knew.

1

Your address & cross street

Pricing and arrival windows depend on the city — a Vancouver character-home repipe and a Langley new-build job quote differently. Your nearest cross street lets dispatch map the closest technician honestly. Strata? Your unit number and parking situation save a callback.

2

One-line problem description

"Furnace blowing cold air since last night, thermostat says heat" beats "heating problem" — the first sentence books the right truck with the right parts. If you know the make and age of the equipment (a phone photo of the label on the unit works), say so; it changes what the technician brings on the first visit.

3

Photos, if it's safe

A photo of the leaking joint, the error code on the furnace control board, or the serial plate on the water heater turns a diagnostic guess into a parts-ready dispatch. Never wade into water or open gas equipment for a photo — describe it instead.

4

Where your water shutoff is

If water is actively spreading, close the main shutoff before doing anything else — usually in the basement, crawl space, or near the water meter. Tell the dispatcher you've done it; it changes the emergency triage. If you can't find it, say that too and we'll walk you through it live.

5

Pets, gates & parking

A dog who greets strangers loudly, a locked gate code, or no street parking — these are the three things that most often cost a technician the first fifteen minutes on site. Mention them when booking and the visit starts on time, every time.

6

Your budget range (optional)

Telling us "around $6,000 for the furnace, before rebates" is not used to upsell you — it is used to tell you honestly what fits inside it. If the right solution for your home is outside your range, knowing the range lets us show you the rebate and financing path that closes the gap.

Booking online with the form below? The same rules apply — the more your message tells us, the sharper the callback quote. Every form submission gets a response within 15 minutes during business hours, and a text confirmation with your technician's name and arrival window before they roll.

Before You Dial

Contact FAQ

The eight questions our dispatchers answer every day — so your call takes ninety seconds, not ten minutes.

Most calls fall into two groups: true emergencies (burst pipe, sewage backup, no heat, gas smell) and everything else, where a same-day or next-day window is fine. If you are not sure which group you are in, call — the dispatcher will triage it in under a minute and never upsell you a truck roll you do not need. If it is a genuine emergency, skip the form entirely and call 604-615-2212; forms are checked during business hours, but the emergency line is live around the clock.

Here is what happens after you dial. The dispatcher logs your address and the problem, quotes the honest response window for your city, and sends the closest qualified technician — no callbacks, no waiting for a supervisor to approve the roll. Before anyone touches a tool, the technician diagnoses on site and hands you a flat-rate quote in writing. Nothing starts until you approve that number, and if you decline, the only cost is the diagnostic fee. That is the whole flow, in every one of the 17 cities we serve, at 2pm on a Tuesday or 2am on New Year's Day.

Our office and booking line runs Monday to Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 9am-4pm. Emergencies are answered 24/7/365 — a real dispatcher picks up any hour of any night, including holidays, at 604-615-2212. For non-emergencies, the online form gets a callback within 15 minutes during business hours.
Your address and nearest cross street, a one-line description of the problem, when it started, and photos if you can take them safely. Tell the dispatcher if you know where your main water shutoff is — and if water is actively spreading, shut it off before you do anything else. Pets and parking notes help the technician arrive ready.
Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, New Westminster, North Vancouver and Port Coquitlam run 30-45 minutes for emergencies. Surrey, Coquitlam, Langley and Delta run 45-60 minutes, Maple Ridge 50-70 minutes, and Abbotsford 60-80 minutes. We quote your window honestly when you call.
Up to an hour of on-site diagnosis by a licensed technician plus a written flat-rate quote for the fix. The fee is credited in full to any approved repair, so you only pay it if you decide not to proceed. There is no overtime on the diagnosis itself, and no charge for the written quote.
Evacuate everyone from the building first, then call FortisBC at 1-800-663-9911 or 911 — never a trades company. Gas leaks are a utility and emergency-services matter. Once FortisBC declares the area safe, we can repair or replace the affected piping and gas connections.

Yes — financing from 7.99% with approved credit on larger projects such as furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, repipes and full window packages. Every quote is flat-rate and approved in writing before work starts, and we complete the CleanBC, BC Hydro, FortisBC and municipal rebate paperwork for you.
Every job carries our 2-year written workmanship warranty, on top of manufacturer parts warranties — 10 years on furnaces we install — which we register for you before we leave the property.

Using the form or email instead? Two things make the first visit faster: a photo or short video of the problem (a puddle, a frozen AC coil, a boiler error code on the display), and a note about access — basement suite entrances, gate codes, narrow side yards, or a dog who needs to be introduced before strangers walk in. The more the dispatcher knows, the better the truck is stocked before it leaves the yard, and the more likely your job is finished on the first visit.
